Brochure for the bilingual and bicultural section

Collège Sévigné is a private secular school under contract with the State. The academic program is therefore based on the French national curriculum.

Starting 6ème (age 11) marks the entry of pupils into secondary education. It is organized into four year groups from 6ème to 3ème (ages 11 to 14) and is structured in teaching cycles.

Since September 2016, changes in the French education system have meant changes to these teaching cycles. The middle school therefore includes:

  • end of Cycle 3, known as the consolidation cycle which starts in CM1 (age 9) and continues up to and including 6ème (age 11)
  • Cycle 4, known as the extension of knowledge cycle for students from 5ème (age 12) to 3ème (age 14)
