Collège Sévigné is a private secular school under contract with the State. The academic program is based on the French national curriculum. The primary school has a Kindergarten (called Maternelle in French) with one class per year group: Petite Section, Moyenne Section and Grande Section (ages 3 to 5) and two classes per year group from CP to CM2 (ages 6 to 10).

True to its tradition, Sévigné’s goal is the education and personal development of all children in its care.

We are attentive to the need to train tomorrow's global citizens. With this in mind, our primary is now bilingual since September 2016, offering every pupil a bicultural approach to education in English and French. Teaching time is split 50/50 between French and English. The pupils in CM1 and CM2 (ages 9 and 10) will have the opportunity to sit the Cambridge Young Learners test in Cycle 3 of their primary education.

Our primary school project stems from the Collège Sévigné project as a whole with a focus on core skills and special emphasis on the command of language, reading and writing. Since September 2016, this project takes on an international dimension offering innovative educational approaches that are bicultural, meaningful and help pupils develop their skills of adaptability and openness towards others. Teaching in English is provided by a native English speaker, trained in the various educational approaches that integrate the use of new technologies.

Many educational and cultural trips are offered to pupils as part of the projects done in class. Partnerships with institutions such as the Espace Pierre-Gilles de Gennes Sciences are favored to encourage inter-disciplinary and inter-cycle projects. As part of our journey towards global cultural awareness, some English-speaking traditions are also celebrated.
